We need a workforce to save an ocean planet

Biological science can only go so far..

Finding the important places is the first step.

Community support is next.

We arm the public with accurate biological knowledge, skills and qualifications to earn a living from Reserves.

The RockHopper Academy

Ocean Harmony

Camp Collette bringe Cape Town’s ocean communities together.

We offer free monthly launches to those interesting in networking, collecting data, or practicing a marine skill - from film to freediving, science to sales.

Every year we equip hand-selected early-stage conservationists with on-site experience towards their next position.

  • Boat skippers

  • First Aid

  • Tourist Guide

  • Alien vegetation management

  • Monitoring & enforcement

  • Post grad studies

Science

Scientists dont always get 100% of the funding they need. We cover the missing bits, esnuring a good project becomes a great project. Our focus is on apex predators - mostly sharks.

Access

Today’s technology allows us to provide ocean experiences to those that can’t access the sea. Through carefully selected partners we provide access on the ground and online.

With immersive VR and outreach programs, festivals, school visits and open days, we invite the ocean champions - young and old - to experience the world under the waves, often for the first time.
